Exactly. That would be my life story as well....

I always seem to go at things the long way around, but what is life? Is it not in the journey and getting all that wonderful 'character building' heh.

Perhaps the saddest thing that could happen (purely hypothetical speaking) would be for us to take the shortest way and be finished with life but still alive!

I somehow thing, that the point where are 'finished' is the point where we die. Paul stayed alive only because he had a mission, but he was ready to kick the bucket the moment he had finished his God-calling! The people in Hebrews 11 couldn't wait to shed their skin, and in Corinthians/Romans? Paul talks about how we groan in our earthly body waiting to be clothed with something better.

Its a hard state we live in, we love our lives enough to preserve them but this built in sensor tells us we are waiting and longing for something better!

I guess our lives are what we would call a Work in Progress, we don't have the privilege of being 'published' until its over! (will we even see the final product?)

In my life I realize that I have been so goal oriented hoping to do a certain amazing thing or be a certain example of awesome Christianity that I have missed out on just knowing God, which must take priority over everything else. So lately, I've been sitting back, smelling the roses and trying to know, not just to do. (Not that its going super well but its been pretty OK.)

Take heart Josh and remember construction zones are most aggravating when you are rushing to get somewhere instead of be/know someone. Jesus is in the car with you, and maybe He just wants to take the extra time to talk with you!

Ack, with all that said, I still agree life is best when its a fast highway and you can put the pedal to the metal, use cruise control and turn up the tunes!

I still enjoy (and read) and think about your blog. Keep it up!
