This week I was struck by the verse in Isaiah that says, “O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things.” (Is. 25:1)

Isaiah started His praise by acknowledging that “Yahweh” – the redeemer – was his God. There should be now questions as to who it is that deserves our praises and who is the one who sovereignty rules over us.

Then He said, “I will exalt YOU.” Not myself. Not my efforts. Not my friends. Not my leaders. Not my church… but YOU, Oh God, are the one who deserves to be lifted up!

Finally, I can’t help but echo Isaiah’s praise for His “Perfect Faithfulness” in my life recently. Always remember, God has done and will continue to do “marvelous things” amongst us as He fulfills his sovereign will.

As for you and I, we must continue to seek His face and praise His name. Keep in mind, the chief-end for all our efforts is to glorify God. If we keep that as our goal, God will surely continue to carry us into the exciting days ahead.

I will pray for you as you finish this week, that you may keep your eyes fixed on Christ and that your life will resound Isaiah’s words in a lifestyle of praise.

Today begins a new journey.

After over 100 hours of interviews, thousands of questions, many conversations,  and countless prayers, a decision has been made; today Molly and I received a unanimous congregational vote from Creekside Church to join their family. I will now be serving as the Teaching Pastor of Creekside Church.

I am humbled beyond words. God’s favor on Molly and I is more than my finite mind can bear. Oh God, I praise you for your works and ways are more than I can comprehend!

This begins a new chapter. As the pages turn for us, it is hard not to stop and think about all that God did to prepare Molly and I for this new role. His providence is breathtaking. He has brought me through three very hard years in preparation for such a role as this. My life to this point has sovereignly directed us through experiences that have helped me understand my calling and the necessity to serve Christ in this way. Molly has been formed for this calling for most of her life, unbeknownst to her. She will be a wonderful “Pastor’s wife” because she is one of the most joyful and selfless people I know.

We are humbled, excited, petrified yet confident in Christ as we enter this new calling. Please pray for us!

We love you Creekside! We are excited to now be part of the family.
