Arrrrrrgg. Ahoy matie.
Tuesday was National Talk Like a Pirate Day. However, I missed it... on purpose.
True pirates never follow the rules. arrrrr.
So I decided to make National Talk Like a Pirate day TODAY. Yes, I know it is Friday, but the was part of me plan. arrrr.
Don't beleive that I'm actually talking like a priate today? Well, then you should walk the plank. I'm sitting in me office wearing my black skull bandana and all.

There are few places on earth like it. The mountain peaks. The 350 days of sunshine. The thin air that makes you feels like you are going to pass out… oh what a great state!
My time in Colorado was so wonderful. I spoke at the Air Force Academy Doolie (freshman) retreat put on by the Chaplain’s office. I spoke on Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning. We took a look at the necessity of living by faith not by sight. We also studied Psalm 1 and the need for us as believers to live our lives steadily placed upon the Word of God. On Sunday morning we had an early meeting - thank God that His Word is coffee to our soul! Sunday we had a good time in Mark 2 as we look at practical ways to get our friends to the feet of Jesus.
The time with my Mom, Dad and sister was so great as well. I’m glad that they were able to join me on the retreat. We spent the time in the wonderful mountain air laughing, catching up, and reflecting on the past.
I often joke with people telling them that “God lives in Colorado.”
I’m starting to believe it.

It is hard to believe, but our baby - Honest to God Radio - is turning 1 this next month. It has been an exciting first year of over 50 episodes! We are looking to do something special for the 1 year mark on the October 5th and 7th broadcast.
Do you have any ideas?
What would be really cool to do in our 3 minute episode to celebrate what God has done over this last year?
Post your ideas in the comments section. Roger, stephanie and I can't wait to hear!

Today I started my new series at Harvest Bible Chapel. This whole acedemic year we will be taking a deep biblical look at what it means to grow up spiritually. This fall we will be studying the life of Daniel. Next semester we will take a look at what it means to throw off "Childish things" (1 Corinthians 13:11). I'll be posting the audio of each sermon every other week... make sure to check back.
(and yes, that is me in the picture :)

I’ve never been a morning person. Rarely do I get up at the first sound of the alarm or have the discipline not to hit snooze. However, today was different.
This morning was my first meeting with a small group of guys. The five of us sat in a bustling Starbucks with open Bibles and open hearts. We discussed last Sunday’s sermon by Pastor James and spent time reflecting on the lessons of Acts 1. There was nothing super spiritual about our time, just a few guys learning lessons together and holding each other accountable for our walk with the Lord.
After some time in the Word, we asked each other these questions:
- Have you been spending time in God’s Word and in prayer this week? If so, how?
- Have you taken time to be with your wife / family this week? If so, how?
- Have you exposed your mind to sexually inappropriate things?
- Have you been above reproach with your finances?
- Have you been taking care of your body?
- Have you just lied?
The last question is brilliant. It may not have been that any of us lied directly, but #6 defiantly made each of ask, did I just share the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
I encourage you to get a group like this. Meeting in the morning (or whenever) with a few others who truly long to deepen their walk with Christ will be time well spent. It can be that kind of jolt for your soul that says, WAKE UP SOUL! It’s time to live life to the fullest!
Thanks Craig, Sam, Eric, and James.
